Story

The composer Edward Elgar lived in Malvern, and had a life-long association with Worcester, the surrounding area, and of course Worcester Cathedral. One of our country's most celebrated composers, Elgar's music is perhaps 'at home' most in Worcester.

With the aim of raising some funds for the cathedral at this difficult and challenging time, my 2.6 challenge is to play a 26-minute recital of Elgar classics, from my piano at home. With concerts being postponed and cancelled around the country and across the globe, you may not be able to go out to a concert, but why not make a donation and enjoy some of your favourite Elgar tunes!

The concert will be posted on my Facebook page at 7pm on Tuesday 28th April 2020. I hope you will be able to tune in then, or watch it back afterwards. Thank you for your support!

About the charity

Worcester Cathedral is a welcoming and vibrant community and an architectural treasure. It costs £7,500 per day to maintain and we receive no statutory state funding. Admission into the Cathedral is free and it is open every day of the year. Please help us to continue this.
