Story
Dear All,
Later this month I’ll be joining a few hundred people early on a Sunday morning in Hyde Park to swim in the freezing, choppy, duck cr*p filled waters of the Serpentine followed by a 15k bike race and 5k run around the park.
So why am I putting myself through this? Why did I pay someone to yell at me and nearly drown me each week in the pool? Go without that extra glass of wine or piece of cake!! Yes to prove to myself I can do it, and here’s the serious bit, to help a very worthwhile cause.
And this where you can help:
Students Partnership Worldwide (SPW) is the global leader in engaging and supporting young people to address the urgent health, education and environmental issues that affect their lives and the lives of their families, communities and countries. Over 20 years, SPW has developed a unique range of approaches that enable young people to lead development processes that allow young people to lead healthy and productive lives.
SPW’s youth-led programmes reach more than 400,000 young people on a weekly basis throughout the year. SPW has been repeatedly cited as an example of best practice by UNICEF, UNAIDS and the World Bank for having a unique and effective youth-led methodology.
Please make a donation to this worthy cause. So if the thought me freezing and suffering in cold waters doesn’t make you want to pledge, please spare a thought to helping these children and give as much as you can.
Thank you so much,
Sandra
