Rat Race - Glasgow Riverside 2011 · 21 August 2011 ·

We are here for anyone with epilepsy, their families, carers and employers. We campaign for improved healthcare and an end to stigma, influence policies that will affect the health, educational and social welfare of people with epilepsy and provide quality information and support services.

Story

Very many thanks to all who have sponsored me for the Rat Race.

My Dad and I both managed reasonably respectable times but I beat the old man by 2 minutes. Apart from getting a bit fitter we have with your help raised over £800.
Photo from the end of the race which involved a 6m jump into the Clyde, various other obstacles, some kayaking and the 10km of running now online.

What am I doing?

Raising money for Epilepsy Scotland by completing the Glasgow Riverside Rat Race - a 10k run, swim, paddle and climb with a difference!

I have decided to move on from the odd run round Braidburn Valley with my dog Mowgli to something a bit more adventurous....

Why?

To raise money to help the 8 people per day who are diagnosed with epilepsy in Scotland.

To get fit because I want to try rugby again after having spinal surgery.

..and the more you sponsor me the faster I’ll go!

When and Where?

Sun 21 August (starting in wave 4 at 3pm), Glasgow …

Please come and cheer me on…I will need lots of encouragement near the end.

Who with?

My Dad, Richard has to come too because I’m under 18. He claims to be really fit but we’ll have to wait and see if needs to stop for a coffee…every mile!

Remember - The money you help to raise will be used to support the 59,000 people across Scotland being treated for epilepsy today.
