Story

Welcome one and all. Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

Welcome and thanks for visiting our fundraising page. (NEWLY UPDATED - 1st OCTOBER)

Well, the deed has been done and all 12 cyclists (13 including Chungy's 3-day guest apppearance) have safely navigated their way from Coldstream to London. The weather was mixed, as was the mood amongst us along the way (eh Dave..!!), but there is no doubt we all felt brilliant in the pub on Saturday afternoon with bikes out of sight and beer in-hand.

It wasn't easy and the weather had its moments, but we all completed the event with our bodies fully intact (if not bikes, Steve!). The final mileage ranged between 430-455miles depending on accuracy of computer and number of wrong turns taken.

Along the way we met some lovely people and stayed in some wonderful places. Special mentions must go to:

Garth House B&B, Coldstream - Irene's guesthouse is a wonderful place to stay with a great homely atmosphere and lovely cooked breakfast in the morning. Thanks Irene.

Thirkleby Hall Cottages, nr Thirsk - by far the most spacious and glamorous accommodation we stayed in. Beautiful holiday cottages in a glorious setting. Many thanks to Catherine and her husband for making us feel so welcome and giving us a very generous deal on the cottages.

The Bay Horse Inn, Hatfield, Doncaster - a cozy village pub serving great food, whose landlord kindly made a donation to the fund.

The Bulls Head Inn, Arthingworth - good beer, great food and lovely rooms. What more could a group of cyclists hope for. Many thanks Sandy for your help in accommodating us all.

The diners in the Banana Leaf Restaurant, Hemel Hempstead - an impromptu whip-round raised over £65 from the generous people of Hemel. Thanks everyone

Thanks also to the cyclists who gave up so much time, energy and so many inner-tubes to partake in this week-long event and a special mention also to our excellent support driver David Walker.

If you still wish to sponsor any of the cyclists (see links below), you will be pleased to hear you still have time...!!!
