Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are a National Trust property in Lamberhurst, Kent. In the winter of 2010 our vibrant damask gold wallpaper currently on our main staircase was ruined by water ingress after our roof leaked. The following year we worked with specialist building companies to locate the problems and rectify them to ensure this doesn't happen again.
In 2011 we commissioned Atelier d'Offard in France to produce us 22 rolls of replica wallpaper using traditional block printing methods. With this paper we plan to restore the original glow to this space. Funding to reprint the wallpaper was kindly supplied by the John Cornforth Memorial Fund, a close friend of Christopher and Betty Hussey, the last family members to live at Scotney Castle.
We now need to raise £13,000 to employ specialists to renovate the stairway, which includes repairs and redecoration of the painted ceiling, wood paneling and a window as well as the removal of the existing wallpaper and hanging the new rolls.
