Story

<div> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;">Hi and thanks so much for taking the time to read my page. On 12th May 2012&nbsp;<span class="490553109-14032012">,</span> along with 2 friends from RAF&nbsp;Regiment</span><a></a><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;"> 29 Commando&nbsp;TACP</span><a></a><a></a><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;">&nbsp;I <span class="490553109-14032012">am</span> taking on the gruelling&nbsp;100km</span><a></a><a></a><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;"> run from London to Brighton. It is a definitive test of endurance and determination.</span><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;"> In</span><a></a><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;"> full kit, boots and with&nbsp;40lbs</span><a></a><a></a><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;"> strapped to our backs we will equip ourselves with grit and determination to run the&nbsp;100km</span><a></a><a></a><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;"> through the day and through the night. Starting in Richmond Park we will make our way down to Brighton, traversing the North and South Downs. We will run, walk and crawl if we have to<span class="490553109-14032012">,</span> but we will not give up. And why would we do this? Well it's simple, I am putting myself through a few hours&nbsp; of pain to raise as much money as I possibly can for the real&nbsp;heroes</span><a></a><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;"> of this world. The brave children who are born into this world with&nbsp;<span class="490553109-14032012">apalling health conditions</span>, requiring them to put up a real fight and who<span class="490553109-14032012">, although</span> plagued with pain and discomfort daily<span class="490553109-14032012">,</span>&nbsp; continue to brighten our lives with their smiles and continue to inspire us with their bravery.</span></p> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;">Any&nbsp;<span class="490553109-14032012">p</span>arent knows that&nbsp;there</span><a></a><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;"> is no worse experience than their child being ill. Few would even consider the horror of this when they&nbsp;bring</span><a></a><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;">&nbsp;a child into the world.&nbsp;However</span><a></a><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;"> for so many, life is a struggle f<span class="490553109-14032012">rom</span> the moment they&nbsp;<span class="490553109-14032012">are born</span>. Have you ever felt at a total loss and not known where to turn for help? Thank goodness for Great Ormond Street Hospital&nbsp;<span class="490553109-14032012">which</span>, since opening&nbsp;<span class="490553109-14032012">their</span> doors on Valentines Day back in 1852 ha<span class="490553109-14032012">s</span> been there to either change the lives of these little&nbsp;heroes</span><a></a><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;"> or make life as comfortable for them as they&nbsp;possibly can whilst they are with us.&nbsp;<span class="490553109-14032012"> </span>Shockingly Great&nbsp;Ormond</span><a></a><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;"> Street will see over 200,000 little ones pass through their doors for treatment each year alone. So you will&nbsp;understand</span><a></a><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;"> then why I am grabbing the opportunity to do what I can to help raise&nbsp;much needed funding to help GOSH maintain the world class care they provide for our&nbsp;<span class="490553109-14032012">children</span> and their desperate families. By digging deep you will help GOSH to continually refurbish their hospital to the highest standards. You will help fund the best and most effective equipment, support continued research into treatments and be responsible for helping these skilled and caring doctors and nurses put the smile back on the faces of our little unsung heroes and their families. Funding also allows GOSH to provide&nbsp;accommodation</span><a></a><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;"> for Mum and Dad to stay right by the side of their little one as they go through such horrendous&nbsp;tough&nbsp;times. For</span><a></a><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;"> me&nbsp;that's</span><a></a><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;"> the real meaning of a gruelling challenge. All we have to worry about is a few blisters.&nbsp;<strong>So please, dig deep and give whatever you can to help make these kids smile again. EVERYTHING really does&nbsp;make a difference.</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family: Arial; color: #0000ff; font-size: x-small;">Thank you&nbsp;so much in advance on behalf of 3 weary soldiers and lots of very deserving little ones.</span></p> </div> <div>&nbsp;</div> <div>&nbsp;</div>
