Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Grant and I would be grateful if you could please dig deep and sponsor us online or offline (we have a form).

Last year Grant and I ran (well sort of!!) in the hottest London Marathon on record as well as Berlin Marathon 6 months later.  We decided this simply wasn't a tough enough challenge so got thinking....maybe two marathons in six weeks would be tough.......but then we decided "lets go mad" and run in a costume!

To help promote the wonderful charity we are running and collecting jointly for this year, we have decided to dress up as characters in children cartoons/books.

Great Ormond Street Hospital provide medical support and care for children who are suffering life threatening illnesses and give physiological support to the wider families.

To give you an example of the support provided, Grant's friend’s daughter (Sian Hollesen) was diagnosed with Leukaemia at the tender age of 2o months.  After a great many visits to Great Ormond Street over 2 years with fantastic monitoring and support she was finally given the all clear in 2007.

Adele (Sian's mother) wants to say the following: "That support involved in the community nursing, social workers, psychologists, support groups and shared care with a local hospital.  All of this is to help the whole family understand the condition and learn to deal with the situation so that they can get their lives back to normal, as far as is possible, as quickly as possible.  On top of that GOSH will continue monitoring her for the rest of her natural life to ensure the leukaemia stays in remission.

As a family going through all of this you know GOSH gives you the life of our child back."

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity (GOSHCC) will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Please please help us in supporting this amazing charity and any support on the day (especially around Docklands area where we both struggled last year) would be greatly appreciated :+) oh and a few bananas wouldn't go a miss.....

Many thanks for your support.

Scott (Bananaman) and Grant (Noddy)

UPDATE................

After running through 4 seasons in one day Noddy came driving home in 5:03:57.  Bananaman flew in at 4:42:15 - both costumes took a large soaking on the day but we raised a few smiles and got plenty of support from the crowd and runners.  We both would just like to add our very warm thanks to everyone who has kindly donated money - you are the real stars so until Edinburgh at the end of May (gulp!).......
