Event: Virgin London Marathon 2011
We use music, clowning, magic and dance to give the gift of laughter to lonely kids

Story

This year, i will be running the London Marathon barefoot, to try to raise money for the Flying Seagull Project.

The Flying Seagull Project is operated by a group of young actors, artists, musicians and the enthusiastic, determined to make a difference. We travel across Romania visiting disadvantaged children, the elderly, adults with difficulties, and marginalised groups of society.

Using our skills and training, we organise workshops and shows designed to help childhood development, improve emotional well being and give support through having a laugh. “Fun therapy” is the concept; it’s not scientific, or a new fangled medical term, it simply means that we have fun and afterwards, everyone feels better.

Kids get a chance to be kids, those with disabilities can discover new ways to communicate and express them selves, which they might not get to do too often, and most importantly everyone has a good time.

So please dig deep and donate now!

About the charity

We believe that it is everyone’s right to put aside the cares of life and smile for a while. We work with marginalised groups to bring smiles and laughter, whether as Clown Doctors for children undergoing difficult medical treatments or through arts, music and crafts workshops and shows.
