Thank you very much for looking at my fundraising page - this April I will be taking part in the 'Survive the Sinai' trek across the Eygptian desert, on behalf of WellBeing. My fundraising target is £10,000 (over and above the costs of the trip, which I am covering myself) - please sponsor me online!
(It's the most efficient way for me to raise funds for my charity. If you are a UK taxpayer your donation will be increased by almost a third at no cost to you.)
Both WellBeing and I will really appreciate your donation. Any amount will make a difference but please try to give generously!
Best wishes, Marcus
Please carry on reading to find out a little more:
I have been a supporter of WellBeing for many years because I believe that research into Women's Health is vital in order to bring about improvements in the care and treatment of women, both in pregnancy and at other times in their lives. As a practising Obstetrician and Gynaecologist I think it is important that doctors and others involved in the care of women should demonstrate their commitment to the benefits of research by helping to fund raise for such a worthwhile and under-resourced cause.
The opportunuty to take part in the 'SURVIVE THE SINAI' challenge allows me to pursue my fascination for deserts in a physically challenging way, whilst drawing attention to and raising money for something I know will benefit the health of women, their babies and hence the whole of society. WellBeing is the only national charity which benefits all aspects of Women's health from pregancy and birth, to contraception and fertility problems, to gynaecological cancers and bladder problems, to menstrual disorders, the menopause and the health issues of older women.
What better way to start my seventh decade than a challenging trek in the desert for a cause that has already brought about major advances in the healthcare of women all over the world, and can still help to do so much more!
Thank you for your support.
Best wishes, Marcus
