Thank you for visiting Shackleton Technologies fundraising page. This site shows the accumulation of all donations made to date. Our current task is a virtual journey to Malawi, whereby all miles that we cover during our fitness activities, are recorded until we reach our target of 6000 miles. Over 100 miles of which MUST be swam, sailed or rowed !! Its tough going and we are behind schedule having covered 1500 miles so far.

Paul and Gary (ex Shackleton !) recently held a successful Charity Golf Day with 35 players enjoying the course at Drumoig an a well earned meal at the end. We all helped raise over £800 within the day. Fantastic.

Our team of guys will also attempt to raise if not exceed our target amount by the end of 2008, with plans afoot to scale the 3 peaks within 48 hrs, a charity Quiz Night plus many other efforts throughout the year. All our staff unanimously agreed to support this ethical project to make a difference to people who literally have nothing. Many adults in Malawi suffer from aids and other life threatening illnesses and as a consequence children are often found orphaned and homeless. Many children are abused or beaten on a regular basis so run away from home to seek shelter elsewhere. The Chisomo Children’s Club provides homes, education and protection from many vices that threaten their everyday existence within Malawi. For further info please see http://www.chisomo.org/.

All funds raised will be used to help build and furnish new classrooms, improve existing health and hygiene systems, purchase new generators. Shackleton Technologies plan to send a technician to install PC’s and IT equipment that we have already collected into the new and existing facilities. We will then provide basic IT training to as many children as possible.
