Shaheed Udham Singh - Our role today

 Dear All, 
We are going to now ask you to help a family to live in a house where the roof isn’t going to collapse any minute, a place where they can feel safe and have the BARE NECCESSETIES to live. These people can’t afford their own medicine, the elderly member does manual jobs such as lifting heavy building materials which someone of his age and health should not be doing. We really don’t have the words to describe the shame felt when we had a grown old man cry to us about the plight of his life and could do nothing. This is the family of the freedom fighter SHAHEED UDHAM SINGH, he sacrificed his life for an entire nation- It’s time for us to now be there for his family..

 The govt hasn't offered a permenant job to the household which is what they really need in the long term to allow for a stable stream of income. We am working on lobbying pressure on officials to encourage this although they are reluctunt and un-cooperative.

However in the meantime what we do have control over is the short term. With your help we would like to initiate and complete the work required to have the roof of their home repaired/replaced, after this with any surplus amount (if this is the case) the money will be of use in other areas of the home as the infrastructure is weak.
