On a personal note I am running this race in memory of my grandfather, the original Siggi, my greatest mentor, role model and inspiration in life.  He sadly passed away, at the ripe old age of 92 last year, much too early for all of us who loved him so dearly and miss him every day.  He was a great lover of all life, and would certainly approve of both my endeavour to run the Marathon and also my effort to help save a great animal in need.
