Story
Somehow, I have managed to get myself signed up to do a skydive... I should mention that I am completely TERRIFIED of falling (to the point where I cant even do a front drop on a trampoline and I have nightmares about falling out of doorways...!) so this really is a challenge for me! Maybe my jump will cure me.
However, my absolute terror will be aid of an amazing cause, as I am raising money for the Oxford Cancer Centre through the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals Charitable Fund. Together with others from the Oxford Young Professionals Society, I am throwing myself out of a plane on 1 October, in an attempt to collectively raise at least £5000 for the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals Charitable Fund to enable them to put a children's play area in the waiting room of the cancer hospital. They would like to convert part of the waiting room by installing computers for the older children and toys for the younger ones. This area will make such a difference to the children who are accompanying their parents or siblings while they have treatment as well as those who are having treatment themselves, as at the moment, the waiting room is stark and empty, with just rows of chairs.
Sadly, cancer touches all our lives, but I hope that, along with the rest of the OYPS sky divers, I am able to raise enough money to make a small but significant difference in helping these children deal with their, or their family member's, illness.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, I hope you decide to donate - so thank you in advance!
