Story
We did it!!! On Saturday July 12th and the early hours of Sunday July 13th the Social Climbers smashed the 3 Peaks - Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, completing the walking in 13.5hrs giving us 30mins to spare and an event time of 23.5 hours.
As preparation for this event we walked locally in Hertford as well as 5 specific hill/mountain training events (not many hills in Herts you know) You may be interested to know that in the course of our training the team has collectively walked over 1,200 miles and climbed a whopping 101,360 feet together - or if you prefer, the equivalent of climbing to the peak of Mt Everest (29,029ft) three and a half times. Not to mention hours spent in the gym or in Ed's case running around his field at home at 5am before going to work.
We're raising money for the Breast Cancer Campaign and this site will remain open for donations until 1st October 2008. We've received amazing support so far and would like to push well beyond our original target towards £15,000 if possible.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Breast Cancer Campaign will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now!
Many thanks for your support.
