Story
Welcome to our fundraising website for The Jennifer Trust in memory of Sophia Marie Walton.
In May 2009, Jens Walton, John Unsworth, Paul Unsworth, Tracy Jones, Helen Boggia & Martin Jalowiec are all taking part in the Manchester 10k Run. Please make a donation in recognition of this and help them run that bit faster!
Fran Unsworth is also going to row 10km the end of May at her local gym.
We have set up an Angel Fund with The Jennifer Trust in Sophia’s name which currently stands at £4,430. With your help, we can reach our target of £5,000 and have a star named after Sophia. More importantly, every penny donated makes a real difference to the endless work The Jennifer Trust carries out.
SMA is a genetic condition that affects nerves in the spinal chord. These nerve cells become damaged, breaking the link between the brain and muscles. As a result, the muscles aren’t used and so waste away. There are several types of SMA and Sophia had Type 1 which is the most severe form that affects babies.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: The Jennifer Trust for SMA gets your money faster and, if you’re a taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please donate now!
Thank you for your support.
