Update - Sunday 30th September
Well, I did it!! I ran 13 miles in 2 hours, 13 minutes and 55 seconds - I am really pleased.
Thank you to Mum and Dad - the support team and Adolfo who provided a route, encouragement, roast chicken and even cycled it with me!
Thank you also to you all who have been so generous in giving to this really worth cause.
See you soon.
Sophie xx
Update - Thursday 13th September 7pm
As some of you may have heard on the news, they announced today that they are cancelling the Windsor half marathon this year due to foot and mouth - I cannot tell you how disappointed I feel right now. You will see below that so many wonderful people have pledged to support me on this run, so what I have decided to do is a 13 mile run anyway on 30th September. It will not be as good an experience but I think this is a worthy cause and wish to complete the mission I have started.
Despite this set back please still support me on this.
Many thanks
Sophie
Hi all
As some of you know I am running the Windsor Half Marathon on 30th September for my sins - 13 miles! It would be great if you could sponsor me for a really worthy cause - the Pituitary Foundation (www.pituitaryfoundation.co.uk - registered charity 1058988).
As some of you may know my Dad was sick some years ago (although fighting fit now) and the Pituitary Foundation really helped to support him and our family through this difficult time.
FYI - The pituitary gland is a really important gland, the size of a pea, located at the base of the brain. It produces hormones which in turn control the hormone production of many other glands in the body.
I would really appreciate it if you could sponsor me, donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: the Pituitary Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you, all you have to do is tick the box.
Many thanks in advance for your support.
