Cancer is a common condition and a serious health problem. In the UK, cancer is responsible for 126,000 deaths a year. 1 in 3 people are affected by cancer and one in four people die from cancer.

A team of us, called 'The Splat Pack' have teamed up and decided to raise some money for Cancer Research UK by climbing the national 3 peaks of the British Isles which are Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon in 24 hours. Having absolutely no prior experience of climbing mountains, the team have been undergoing a vigerous training programme in order to complete the challenge.

One of the team members owes his own life to a bone marrow transplant he received in 2007, which is just one of the many kinds of procedure that, with more research, will save many more lives in future
