Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

At 18:00 hrs on the 20th June 2009 the team of Starship (namely Laurie Wheeler, Stuart Quine, Andy Evans, Mark Lewis and Jim Charles) crossed the start line in Barmouth for the 33rd Annual Three Peaks Yacht Race. Over the course of exactly 5 continuous days we raced through Day and Night against 31 other boats;  sailing 0ver 389 miles, and running 72 miles to climb the highest UK peaks. For Starship the race proofed to be an epic adventure. The introduction of modern GPS tracking technology meant that our wifes, family and friends could follow our progress and we were all very grateful for your support, emails and texts of encouragement (even throughout the night). To cross the finish line as winners of the Tilman Trophy (the fastest boat to place 4 runners on the mountains) is a moment of pride that we will never forget. For us the race was a massive test of strength and determination. To those of you reading this page we could not have done it without you.

We are raising money for LATCH (Children with Cancer) and you can donate online. If you have time take a look at our video and photos at
