Swimathon 2024 · 19 April 2024 to 5 May 2024 ·

Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie are calling on the nation to get down to the pool for Swimathon 2024 - thousands of swimmers, two great causes, one big charity challenge.

Story

After a fantastic first season of open water swims last year I have decided to start 2024 with a goal in mind: to swim the longest distance I have ever swam (5k) not only once but twice in the space of a week. After 4 months of dedicated training I will attempt to complete the distance for the first time on 27th April at Sealanes in Brighton, a gorgeous outdoor pool located on the seafront. A week later, on the 5th May, I will attempt to complete the same distance again but this time at the Jesus Green Lido in Cambridge, an iconic outdoor pool located in the heart of the city.

While attempting to complete both challenges my aim is to collect funds to support people affected by cancer. Cancer Research UK is the largest charitable funder of cancer research in the world and will stay at the forefront of the global fight against cancer. 1 in 2 of us will get cancer. All of us can support the research that will beat it.

Across the weekend of 26-28 April and 5 May thousands of swimmers will be heading to over 400 pools across the UK to raise money for our two amazing charity partner. Together we can really make a difference.

Your support means the world
