Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leeds Teaching Hospitals Charitable Foundation (Rays of Hope) gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me now!
"Hi to everyone on my contact list. This is just a quick mail to all my family, friends & work associates to see if any of you would be interested in sponsoring mine and Steve Lockwoods charity cycle event. It is very common for people to become involved in a specific charity when there has been an illness or accident involving someone close to them. This is true in this case as we are trying to raise some money for the Rays of Hope charity in their liver transplant research work. The unit is based at St James hospital in Leeds. This was the location on the 9th March 2009 for my cousin, Helen Rawlinsons (19) life saving liver transplant. I am happy to say that Helen is making steady progress on the long road to recovery. The liver research unit like so many worthy charities can greatly benefit from fundraising monies in their work which hopefully will further improve success rates and pre and post op techniques.
The bike ride is taking place on Thursday 18th to Sunday 21st June 2009. We are intending to cycle from coast to coast from Whitehaven in Cumbria travelling east and finishing in Seaham (near Sunderland) on the east coast. We will be staying overnight in Keswick, Alston and Durham on route. If anyone would prefer to pay by cheque, you can do so by sending them to Mr S Cletheroe, 9 Brackenbury Close, Lostock Hall, Preston, Lancashire PR5 5NB. Please make the cheques payable to "Leeds Teaching Hospital Charitable Foundation".
