Story
There were approximately 2.5 million people in the UK in 2015 who had a cancer diagnosis. If this number continues to rise, as it has in the last years, we could see four million people living with cancer by 2030, according to a research done on projections of cancer prevalence in the United Kingdom (Maddams, Utley & Møller, 2012).
This year we, the muddy polyglots - aka Karla, Karen, Yassi and Marta, will be venturing ourselves to take part in a 5k race (a muddy one). On Saturday we will be running, jogging, walking, trotting, crawling… and getting muddy as a team! And on Sunday, I, Karla, will also be doing a 10k – if I survive the muddy race.
We invite you to please join the fight with us by digging deep and
sponsoring us - it's quick, easy and totally secure. All you have to do is sponsor the muddy polyglots by donating at https://www.justgiving.com/sumei-karenbrugger. Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work
into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring us, we can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. By sponsoring us, we will help to beat cancer sooner.
Don't forget to add Gift Aid. If you're a UK taxpayer, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box as this will increase your donation by at least 25% at no extra cost to you.
Many thanks and see you at the Southampton Common in July where we’ll show cancer that hell hath no fury like a woman in pink – hopefully it’ll be a sunny weekend.
