Fundraising for Mermaid Appeal
Story
Dear Friends,
As some of you may know, I am about to embark on an epic journey in January, through the Himalayas walking for 3 weeks up the Zanskar River Gorge, (in temperatures as low as -30 degrees!) I have chosen to raise the money for The Mermaid Appeal Trust, a charity that supports Cornwall's only Breast Cancer clinic - The Mermaid Centre.
Like many families, Cancer has greatly affected ours and I would like to generate further funds to support Cornwall's only current centre for women with Breast Cancer - especially for those who are unable to travel beyond the border of Cornwall for further acute treatment.
The Mermaid Appeal Trust is a charity that celebrates its 10th year anniversary, since it opened in 1998, by my late Grandmother Jennifer Galsworthy, who Chaired a team that raised £0.5million to set up Cornwall's first Breast Cancer Screening centre.
With 12,000 patients a year, the centre has proved a cornerstone in the battle against cancer in Cornwall with their survival rates rising 6% every 5 years. I'd be eternally grateful for your support
