Great Ormond Street Hospital provides first class medical care for children from all over the UK and the rest of the world.

It is anticipating a whopping 20% increase in demand for its services and all the while it is battling with buildings that were state of the art when they were built at the start of the 20th Century but are now no longer suitable for modern medicine. GOSH is therefore undergoing a major redevelopment, which will allow it to treat more children and also keep families together while their very ill children/siblings are being treated.

I decided to get involved after visiting the hospital with my sister, who is already doing the trek, and being shown around. Seeing both the redevelopments already made and the old, pokey wards showed how much work there is to be done. However, the clincher was the visit to the little chapel where the teddybears lined the walls. These had been left by the grateful parents of recovering children and it really tugged at the heart-strings.

The required fundraising amount and my costs will be covered by me so any donations you make are an extra bonus to Great Ormond Street Hospital. It really is an amazing place.
