Fundraising for Grief Encounter
Story
Welcome to my JustGiving page.
I am raising money for Grief Encounter by doing a charity challenge trek to Machu Picchu in Peru (for 10 days) this October.
Anyone that knows me knows that my idea of back to nature & outdoor living generally consists of bunting, lavender tea lights and a bottle of wine . However being a spontaneous lunatic, curiosity got the better of me as I love a challenge. The opportunity to do this trek to such an awe-inspiring destination whilst raising money for such a worth while cause is something I couldn't walk, run or lunge away from.
More importantly Grief Encounter is exceptional and is one of the UK's leading bereaved children's charities. Unfortunately it is an astonishing statistic that 1 in 29 children in the UK under 16 years old will suffer the death of a parent. Grief Encounter provide a free service of support without any government funding.They rely solely on the generosity of donations to be able to support these bereaved families.
