Raising money for Combat Stress

The UK's leading charity for veterans' mental health. For over a century, we've helped former servicemen and women deal with issues like trauma, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Today, we provide support to veterans from every service and every conflict.

Story

A team from 1AAC REME LAD are competing in the Cleveland Hike 24-25 Jun 23 to raise money for Combat Stress.

The team will cover a distance between 35-40 mile over two days (set by hike organisers) where each team member will be carrying 20kg with the team being self sufficient for the event. The hike involves navigating by map and compass over the North Yorkshire Moors to check points roughly 5mile apart. At each checkpoint an 'incident' will be completed. Each checkpoint incident could be a physical or mental challenge for all team members to tackle before being given the next checkpoint grid reference. The teams will overnight camp on the Saturday and set off early morning on the Sunday to complete the competition.
