Raising money for PINNT and Newcastle Hospitals Charity

Story

Nick, Ruth, Rosey and Simon are walking an old pilgrim route between Canterbury and Rome, although none of us are particularly religious! It's about 2200km long and we are carrying all our things, however no camping! We want to raise money for 2 charities involved in clinical nutrition: PINNT is a fantastic support group for patients who need artificial nutrition support and we also want to raise money to further research through Newcastle Hospitals Charity into why some patients with Parenteral nutrition (having nutrition given through a vein) develop liver disease and what can be done to prevent it.

We started walking the route in April last year, reaching Lausanne in June. After 3 months back in the UK we spent 4 weeks walking over the Alps in September to Pavia in northern Italy. We aim to finish the route by returning at the end of March, arriving in Rome in mid-May. Please support us in raising money for these very worthwhile charities, thank you for your help so far!
