Story
Update: 19 July 2021
We successfully completed our ride last week and completed over 500 miles! The scenery of the Scottish Highlands was truly wonderful and we were very lucky with the weather, although there were a couple of more challenging days with headwinds and a little rain! We suffered a total of 4 punctures and a broken gearset on one bike; luckily our support vehicle was carrying our spare bike so we were all able to complete the ride. We found the hospitality of the hotels and B&Bs in the Highlands exceptional and met various interesting people along the way, many of whom donated to our cause.
At the time of writing we have raised OVER £10,000 for Marie Curie, who provide amazing support to terminally ill people. We would like to thank everyone for their very kind donations and know that every penny will be appreciated by families such as James’ who are blessed to receive the support provided by the Marie Curie Team. It makes such a difference…if you have not donated yet but would like to support this amazing cause, please make your donation online now.
503 Miles. 7 Days. 4 Friends. 1 Great Cause.
Can we and Marie Curie count on you? We hope so!
4 of us (David Harris, Chris Horton, Stuart Fox and James White) met at Plymouth University some 28 years ago and we have been friends ever since!
After the death of Jim's mum recently, we decided we wanted to challenge ourselves and raise money that can help others who are in need of help. The nurses and the team at Marie Curie provide nursing care to those who are at the final stages of their life and we know the work they do is so valuable to so many families who are going through the trauma of losing a loved one.
On Saturday 3rd July, we will start a 503 mile cycle ride which will take us on the route of the NC500 in Scotland. We will complete the ride in 7 days and climb over 33,000 ft during that time! A tough challenge but one which we would love you to support.
Your donation will make a HUGE difference to families who need the support of a Marie Curie nurse. Thank you for your donation. Every £ matters.
