Story
Together, we have a vision of all children and young people growing up in Scotland having their human rights respected, protected, and fulfilled.
On Sunday 17th September 2023, colleagues at Together (Maria, Caitlin, Mary and Christine) will put their best foot forward and walk ‘The Big Stroll’ which is 14.7 miles. ‘The Big Stroll’ will take us from Fisherrow Links (Musselburgh) and will finish at the iconic BT Murrayfield Stadium.
Sarah and Jacqui will be spirit walkers. They're unable to attend ‘The Big Stroll’ but with dedication and passion, will document their 14.7 miles in the lead up to the event.
On the same day, Jules will be attempting the 'Glencoe Skyline', a 52km race with mountain running and scrambling over 4,750m - like running up Ben Nevis over three and a half times! She's doing this challenge to distract herself from the fact that she's unable to climb or mountain-bike after a severely dislocating her thumb earlier this year. The more money Jules knows she's raising for Together, the more motivation she'll have to train hard for this big challenge!
All donations to Jules's Skyline attempt and our ‘The Big Stroll’ would be greatly appreciated. Between us, we're hoping to raise £5,000 for Together's work, inspiring and enabling everyone in Scotland to put children and young people's rights at the heart of what they do. In the next six months, your donations will help us to make sure recent recommendations made by the UN to improve children's rights are taken forward in Scotland, and to do all we can to make sure children's rights are made binding in law through the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child (Incorporation) (Scotland) Bill.
You can support our efforts by making a donation as an individual, raising funds to support us or by encouraging organisations you know or work with to sponsor us.
Together has created a £100 Sponsorship Package which allows any organisation to donate through our JustGiving Package. The Package will include: logo on our Kiltwalk Kindness Wall; ‘Thank You’ graphic which will be shared on social media; regular updates on our training; a thank you in our e-newsletter; logo included on our T-shirts which we will be wearing on the day; and a mention in our Kiltwalk blog. Simply state your organisation when donating on JustGiving and email caitlin@togetherscotland.org.uk
Thank you for helping us step closer to making children and young people’s human rights a reality!
