Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit ourJustGiving page.

On 11 and 12th October 2025, we will be running the 5K and London Half Marathon respectively in memory of our beautiful and brave little girl, Aarvi, and in recognition of the incredible doctors, nurses, and professionals at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) who cared for her with such dedication and love.

GOSH gave us so much – regular clinics, constant medical care, and the compassion of countless professionals who stood by us. Beyond treatment, the GOSH charity also provides vital support for families: accommodation, play areas, catering facilities, and staff who make the most difficult days a little more bearable. By running this marathon, if I can make life even a little easier for just one or two families, then every mile will be worth it.

All money raised will go directly to GOSH, helping them continue to provide world-class treatment, pioneering research, and support for children who desperately need it. There is no pain greater than losing a child, but there is no joy greater than knowing that other families may be spared such heartbreak. My hope is that through this effort, fewer families will suffer as we have.

Our Journey with Aarvi

We were blessed with 6 months and 20 precious days with Aarvi, and for that time we will always be grateful.

Born on 13th May 2014, Aarvi came into the world with breathing difficulties and spent her first weeks in intensive care. She fought bravely through weekly hospital visits, countless blood tests, scans, and treatments. In November 2014, she suffered her first major respiratory collapse. Thanks to the life-saving care at Queens Hospital and later at GOSH, she pulled through, but she could no longer feed herself and needed a feeding tube.

On 1st December 2014, Aarvi faced another collapse. This time, despite every effort at GOSH, she never came back home. On 3rd December 2014, at 11:36am, just days before her 7-month birthday, our little fighter grew her angel wings.

For months, doctors searched tirelessly for a diagnosis, but it was only after Aarvi’s passing that we learned she had an extremely rare and incurable genetic condition.

Aarvi enchanted everyone around her with her glowing smile and quiet strength. She taught us courage, patience, and perseverance. She continues to inspire us every single day. Though we mourn her deeply, we also celebrate the time we had with her. Remembering her is second nature to us now – she is part of our every thought, every moment.

Why We Fundraise

Through this fundraising, we celebrate Aarvi’s memory while supporting future children and families who will need GOSH’s care. Aarvi’s story is one of courage, love, and inspiration, and by keeping her memory alive, we hope to bring light into the lives of others.

We would be so grateful for your support. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and secure. Once you donate, your contribution goes directly to GOSH, helping them continue their life-changing work.

Please, if you can, donate and help make a difference for children fighting against the odds and for the families who stand beside them.

This is for you, my angel. Sleep tight until we meet again.

Aarvi – our Peace. 💜

With love and gratitude,

Aashvi, Aarush, Mum & Dad
