In June 2023, I will be taking part in Ultra X's 250km, 5 day ultramarathon across the beautiful landscape in Tanzania, Africa.

This is a minimum of a marathon a day, with the longest day being 67km. The overall elevation is some 7102 metres, taking in a part ascent up Kilimanjaro itself. The worlds largest free standing mountain.

I am raising money for two charities, PAPYRUS (Prevention of Young Suicide) and Alzheimer's Society. You can choose which you would like to support by choosing below.

My father died from suicide some 21 years ago - I know first hand the impact of losing someone close to you suddenly. PAPYRUS supports younger people through education and support to prevent loss of young lives. They promote positive mental wellbeing for young people as well as running a suicide prevention line called HOPELINK. Suicide is the biggest killer in the UK of people under the age of 35.

Dementia is a cruel disease that is predicted to impact 1 million people in the UK by 2025. We will all no doubt know of someone impacted by it and no the devastating impact in has. It breaks families, in particular it is felt by those who support their loved ones and see them deteriorate as a result of dementia. Alzheimer's UK supports and campaigns those in need. 'We will not rest until people with dementia and their carers live more fulfilled and less fearful lives, free from stigma and inequality.'
