Raising money for Action Medical Research

Race the Sun South Downs 2026 · 25 April 2026 · Start fundraising for this event

Teams of four or two will be setting off at sunrise on this Triathlon-style adventure challenge aiming to finish before the sun sets! Teams will cycle, hike, and canoe with views of the breathtaking South Downs.

Story

Helen, Mike, Liam and Dec have formed team AdVantage 4 to take part in Race the Sun South Downs for children's charity Action Medical Research for children and Charlie's Promise, a charity dedicated to helping to fight against knife crime across the UK.

In April we will be setting off at sunrise to bike, hike and paddle around a challenging triathlon style course in a race against the sun to collectively raise over £2,000.

Our challenge begins with a 31 mile undulating cycle ride through the South Downs, followed by a 10 mile hike across the White Cliffs and finally, finishing with a 2 mile paddle along the sweeping curves of the River Cuckmere!

We're racing in aid of 2 charities, Action Medical Research for children and Charlie's promise - Action against Knife Crime across the UK.

Action Medical Research have spent over 70 years funding vital research to help defeat the diseases that devastate the lives of sick and disabled babies, children, and young people.

Charlie's Promise was set up in the wake of 17 year old Charlie's death after being stabbed at a party. Their aim is to educate young people by sharing Charlie's story and the devastating impact that his death has had on his family, his many friends and the wider community.

By supporting our team you will be helping to find ways to reduce premature birth, to support children facing a lifetime of challenges caused by disabilities, and to educate all children as they grow into young adults about the dangers and impact of knife crime.

Thank you so much for your support xx
