On Thursday 26th March 2026, Bauvill will be taking part in the Great Tommy Sleep Out at The Trenches in Detling Showground. Three of our Directors; Max Scally, Dan Evans and Chris Payne, will be giving up their beds for the night and sleeping in a shelter under the stars, whatever the weather.

This challenge offers a small insight into the reality many veterans face every night.

Across the UK, too many veterans are experiencing homelessness. During the winter months, RBVE sees more veterans arrive in urgent need of support after facing extreme weather, poor mental health, hunger and the cold.

RBVE currently supports more than 340 veterans and their families. This includes people facing homelessness, young veteran families and older veterans living with health conditions. Their support covers emergency accommodation, essential items such as clothing and toiletries, as well as specialist mental health and employment services. They are also home to the iconic Tommy.

Max, Dan and Chris are taking part to help raise awareness and support the vital work RBVE carries out for veterans and their families.
