Raising money for National Literacy Trust

The Arctic Challenge 2020 · 7 February 2020 to 10 February 2020 ·

The National Literacy Trust aims to create a society in which everyone has the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills that they need to fulfil their own and, ultimately, the nation’s potential.

Story

Team Best in Snow : Alia, Alison , Jane and Sévi are going all out to raise funds for National Literacy Trust by embarking on a 4 day test of strength, wills and thermal underwear in the Arctic Circle.

In February 2020, we will be testing our reliance and skills, in one of the harshest environments on the planet – all in the name of literacy!

We are taking part in The National Literacy Trust’s incredible Arctic Challenge – a series of mental and physical challenges to raise vital funds to change the life stories of disadvantaged children in the UK. Competing against other teams, we will learn skills including dog sledding, Nordic skiing, ice fishing, and orienteering.  And with temperatures reaching as low as -30 degrees centigrade and sunlight only lasting a few hours, we are going to be pushed to our limits!

The biggest challenge of all though, is fundraising. Please support us as we take on this challenge. Every penny will help disadvantaged children in the UK who have little access to books or are struggling with literacy.
