Story
Hello, you brave soul!
You know how they say, “Great ideas start with a Guinness”? Well, this might have started after a Guinness… or 10. But let’s not get into details. On June 29, I’ll be swapping my bar stool for a pair of swimming trunks and taking the plunge in the Bournemouth Pier to Pier Swim 2024. Yes, you read that right. Me. Swimming. Voluntarily. 🏊♂️
I’m not just doing this for the thrill (or the potential hypothermia). I’m raising money for the British Heart Foundation, a cause that’s close to my heart (pun intended). The BHF has been instrumental in halving the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK, but there’s still a lot of work to do. Every day, hundreds of people lose their lives to these diseases, and it’s only through our support that the BHF can continue to develop new treatments and find cures.
Just £24 could fund two hours of research by an early career scientist. That’s less than the cost of a round of Guinness! Every pound helps, so please give what you can to help me hit my target. Your support means the world to me, and to the countless hearts that will benefit from it.
Thank you for visiting my page, and for your generous support. And remember, laughter is the best medicine, but a donation to the BHF comes a close second! 😉
