In memory of Bill Boon - Family fundraising for Rare Autoinflammatory Conditions Community

Raising money for Rare Autoinflammatory Conditions Community - UK (RACC-UK)
In memory of Bill Boon

Empowering individuals with the knowledge and support they need to navigate autoinflammatory conditions, ensuring no one feels alone in their journey. We strive to bridge the gap between patients and medical professionals, fostering a community grounded in lived experiences and shared understanding.

Story

We are heartbroken to share the loss of our husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, Bill Boon, a kind, funny, and happy man who passed away recently. Bill was diagnosed a couple of years ago with VEXAS syndrome, a newly identified and rare autoinflammatory condition.

VEXAS (Vacuoles, E1 enzyme, X-linked, Autoinflammatory, Somatic) syndrome is a serious, progressive disorder that affects the body’s immune system, causing painful inflammation, fatigue, and life-limiting complications. Because it was only discovered in recent years, research is still in its early stages — and support for patients is extremely limited.

We have chosen to support RACC (Rare Autoinflammatory Conditions Community). A small but vital charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by conditions like VEXAS, and funding much-needed research into these rare diseases. Their work is a lifeline for patients navigating uncertainty and isolation.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help RACC continue their mission:

- Advancing research into conditions like VEXAS

-Supporting patients and families through diagnosis and beyond

- Raising awareness of rare autoinflammatory diseases among doctors and the public

Please join us in celebrating Bill’s life by making a contribution in his memory. Your kindness will help others facing similar battles and bring hope to a growing community still waiting for answers.

Thank you so much for your support.
