Story

I started this fund so I could collate all the money for Young Lives vs Cancer in Bradley's memory. He started the fundraising himself by setting up a justgiving page for his last Birthday, his reason in his words was so that he "could raise all the money that young lives had helped me out with and so much more.". For just his birthday he raised over £2000. Bradley died the following February and I felt he would have wanted me to carry this on in his name, so I have, and here we are now at £45,137.... 90% of my new target £50k which I thought would take years. Bradley would be so honoured and humbled by all of your efforts he would be so moved too. It does not help the pain but it is easier knowing that Bradley and I have helped so many, and I will continue doing so because that is all I can do for him now.

INCREDIBLE THANK YOU SO MUCH.

This is in loving memory of Bradley Coombes, my son who died of Bowel cancer aged 23yrs old. Bradley lived a life full of fun, laughter and love. His understated popularity and quiet confidence will leave an irreplaceable void in the lives of the people who knew him.

Bradley’s generous and kind demeanour meant that he always accepted those around him without judgement. Even throughout his own treatment he sought to reach out to those in need. A charity close to his heart was Young Lives vs Cancer formerly CLIC Sargent an organisation that provides dignity and independence to young people who are living through the hardships of cancer. Bradley chose to dedicate his last birthday to fundraising for Clic, raising in excess of £2000, by way of showing his appreciation for how they helped him through the most difficult year of his life*.

This summed up Bradley’s generous and giving spirit. A truly inspirational life. Well lived. Well loved. Always missed.

* Because Bradley felt a strong affiliation with the work of this charity, we are asking for donations towards their valuable help. All contributions will go to support the work of CLIC Sargent;

Every day 12 families are told their child has cancer. CLIC Sargent is the only organisation to offer them all round care and support. Visit www.clicsargent.org.uk to find out more.
