❤️ £50,000 RAISED IN BRADLEY’S MEMORY — AND WE’RE STILL GOING… ❤️

I honestly don’t know where to begin.

I started this fund for one reason — to bring together every penny raised for Young Lives vs Cancer in memory of my beautiful son, Bradley.

But this was never my idea originally. It was Bradley’s.

For his last birthday, Bradley set up his own JustGiving page. His reason for doing it was simple, but it said everything about the person he was:

“I could raise all the money that Young Lives had helped me out with and so much more.”

That was Bradley.

Even while he was living through the most difficult year of his life, he was thinking about how he could give something back to the charity that had supported him.

For just his birthday, he raised over £2,000.

Bradley died the following February, aged just 23.

And I knew, without a doubt, that he would have wanted me to carry on what he had started.

So I did.

And now, somehow, unbelievably, we have raised over £50,000.

That is 90% of our new £60,000 target — a target I honestly thought might take years to reach.

Yet here we are.

£50,000.

For my boy.

For Bradley.

For every young person and every family facing the unimaginable reality of cancer.

I wish with every part of me that Bradley could see this. I wish he could understand just how many people have come together in his name and how much his kindness continues to make a difference.

He would be so honoured, so humbled and so incredibly moved by every single person who has donated, fundraised, shared our story, supported an event, joined the team or simply taken the time to remember him.

Bradley lived a life filled with fun, laughter and love. He had an understated popularity and a quiet confidence that drew people to him. His absence has left a hole that can never be filled.

He was kind. He was generous. He accepted people without judgement. And even when he was going through his own treatment, he still looked beyond himself and thought about others.

That is why Young Lives vs Cancer meant so much to him.

They supported Bradley through one of the darkest and most frightening periods of his life. They helped give him dignity, independence and support when cancer had taken so much away.

And on his final birthday, Bradley wanted to give something back.

I am simply trying to finish what my son started.

Raising this money doesn't take away the pain. It doesn't bring him back. Nothing ever could.

But there is something incredibly comforting in knowing that, together, Bradley and I are still helping people.

I can't protect him anymore.

I can't make him better.

I can't give him the life he should have had.

But I can do this for him.

And I will keep doing it for as long as I possibly can.

Because this is what I can do for my beautiful boy now.

Every pound raised is part of Bradley's legacy. Every donation helps another young person and another family who are facing the devastating reality of cancer.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Thank you for helping me turn the most heartbreaking loss imaginable into something that can bring hope and support to others.

Thank you for believing in what Bradley believed in.

And thank you for helping me carry on his incredible legacy.

I know Bradley would be looking down, probably shaking his head at me, but secretly feeling incredibly proud.
