Story
Last year beautiful Ellie Burbage was suddenly and inexplicably taken. We have been privileged to watch her grow into a kind, intelligent and delightful young woman alongside our own children. Since then we have been in awe of our dear friends, Jon and Jo, her parents, have managed to not only continue with life but have honoured her memory in so many unique and extraordinary ways. Their strength and resilience in such dark and difficult times has been inspiring. As a wider group of friends we came together through school, university and working life. We have stood together through many good times and bad. To help Jon and Jo with their grief journey we’ve all set ourselves a challenge to walk the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales in three days. Jon and Jo will walk with us and every step we make training and in the challenge itself will be to honour and remember our dearest Ellie. This challenge has been about support and togetherness but if we can raise a little money also .. well, that would be amazing.
Ellie planned to be a doctor and spent a few days in Cardiology at the RUH in preparation. She was a delight to have in the Cardiology department .. thoughtful, engaging and just lovely. She would’ve been a fantastic doctor. Therefore, we wish to continue to honour Ellie's wonderful memory by raising more life saving donations for the Super-Rehab Cardiology Research Program at the RUH. The many practice walks are also helping to strengthen our own hearts, limbs, heads and friendships as we are spurred on by your kind donations and thoughts of Ellie. Please give if you can
