This year, Catalyst is raising money for two charities that are incredibly important to both Chris and the wider Catalyst team.

Both donation pages are linked at the bottom of this page, and supporters are welcome to donate to whichever cause they prefer - though we’d love to see the support split as evenly as possible.

We’re proud to be supporting Children’s Cancer North and R;pple Suicide Prevention. These are two fantastic organisations, and through some inspiring people like Oscar Smith and John McGhee, we’ve seen firsthand the powerful impact these charities have. We encourage everyone to click on both links to learn more about the difference they’re making.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Chris without some running involved to kick things off. He’s taking on three major events over the next four months:

1. Race to the Stones - 12-13th July - 100k with 5,000ft of climbing.

2. Great North Run - 7 September - Finally doing the largest half marathon in the world with Oliver Smith and other friends on behalf of Oscar Smith.

3. 13 Valleys - 26 - 28 September- 180k with over 24,000ft of climbing. The elevation is the equivalent of going from base camp to the top of Everest and down again, twice.

In Chris’s own words – “The 13 Valleys Ultra genuinely scares the daylights out of me. Starting at 6pm on a Friday, it means running through two continuous nights - something I’ve never attempted before. Though I’m sure the hallucinations will be incredible.”
