Story
The Haemoglobinopathy Honeys are abseiling down the Queen’s Medical Centre to raise money for the Haemoglobinopathy Creative Voices Project! We’ll be enjoying the breathtaking views of Nottingham from the top of one of the UK’s tallest hospitals… before stepping off the edge for a 100ft descent!
We’re taking on The Big QMC Abseil to support Creative Voices — an art-based project we hope to launch in 2026. This initiative aims to amplify the lived experiences of people with Sickle Cell and Thalassemia who receive care at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
Through creativity and storytelling, Creative Voices will offer a platform for patients to reflect on their journeys and express themselves, holding space for the challenges faced by this population.
With valuable support from the New Art Exchange in Hyson Green, this project will celebrate strength, identity, and community while helping others better understand what it’s like to live with a lifelong blood condition.
Please support us if you can — every donation helps bring this important project to life.
Thank you for your support!
