Raising money for Stroke Association

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

The annual Culcheth Cup walking football tournament was held on Sunday 5th October 2025, as planned. It was contested by 14 teams in fair weather conditions (we caught a couple of showers from the tail end of Storm Amy) and the Cup Final was a repeat for last year: Bolton Arena v Blackpool Supporters Trust. It was won by Bolton Arena, again - Congratulations to them!

At the same time the Culcheth Cup is raising vital funds for the Stroke Association. Why support them? Because when stroke strikes, it can feel like a part of you has shut down. Life changes in an instant, and recovery can be a daunting journey. However, with the right support, the brain has an incredible ability to adapt and heal. The Stroke Association provides essential specialist support, conducts groundbreaking research, and advocates tirelessly for those affected by strokes. Their work is made possible by the courage and determination of the stroke community — and with your help, they can rebuild even more lives.

We have set an ambitious target of £5000 to help fuel this important mission. Every donation counts and brings us closer to making a real difference in the lives of those impacted by strokes.

So, when you're considering your donation, we kindly ask you to choose your favourite team and to also choose Gift Aid, and the government will add 25% to your donation. Thank you very much for your support!
