Raising awareness and funds for neurofibromatosis type 2
This can be a genetic condition that causes tumours to grow along the nerves. The tumours are usually non-cancerous (benign) but may cause a range of symptoms.
Almost everyone with NF2 develops tumours along the nerves responsible for hearing and balance. These usually cause symptoms such as:
● hearing loss that gradually gets worse over time
● hearing ringing or buzzing in the ears (tinnitus)
● balance problems – particularly when moving in the dark or walking on uneven ground
● muscle spasms
● blackouts
● blurred vision or temporary blindness
● nausea
● migraines
Would you like to join in supporting a good cause? I'm raising money for NF2 Biosolutions UK; your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate a lot or a little. Anything helps to research into this life changing condition even if it's a £1. Thank you for your support.
