On 6th July (not 7th Sept what it shows above), we’re walking 1 kilometre at Parallel Windsor 2025 with our amazing 29-year-old daughter, Disha, who has special needs, in her wheelchair — celebrating inclusion, strength, and love every step of the way.
The event is designed with inclusivity in mind with Windsor castle as a striking backdrop of Parallel Windsor 2025. This is not just as a challenge, but as a tribute to Cherry Trees Respite Care Centre, who has played a life-changing role in Disha’s journey toward independence. Their care, compassion, and support from 2008 to 2014 helped her grow in confidence and ability, ultimately enabling her to move into supported living and take steps towards a brighter independent life. Those years of respite care gave us a much-needed break from 24x7 care support to Disha. This 1 km represents every milestone Cherry Trees helped her reach. Cherry Trees have received an OUTSTANDING judgement for the third year running by Ofsted. You can see more about Cherry trees in their web site, link below.
