Radiotherapy Staff Sponsored Walk for East Kent Cancer Radiotherapy Treatment Appeal

Raising money for The League of Friends of the Kent and Canterbury Hospital CIO

We’re aiming to raise £400,000 to implement Surgical Guided Radiotherapy at K&C Hospital. The technique allows treatment to be more accurate, more comfortable & faster enabling more patients & a wider range of cancers to be treated locally.

Story

We are a group of radiotherapy staff members at Canterbury Hospital who are raising funds for our ongoing fundraising campaign with The League of Friends charity to bring Surface Guided Radiotherapy (SGRT) technology to East Kent.

SGRT is a type of motion management system that will improve radiotherapy treatment accuracy, enhance patient comfort, and reduce treatment times. It will have a huge impact on the radiotherapy service we provide to patients in East Kent and we would love your help and support!

We will be taking part in a 16 mile walk along the Kent coast from Dover to Sandwich on Saturday 11th October to raise money for this much needed technology. This is estimated to take about 6-8 hours - phew! We would be hugely grateful for any donation you are able to give - all contributions will help to fund this key advancement in patient care!
