Tommy’s is a truly wonderful charity that works closely with families experiencing bereavement, struggling to conceive, or in need of support throughout pregnancy.

This cause is deeply personal to me. In April of this year, I suffered my second miscarriage at 11 weeks. After waiting seven days for an appointment, I was advised to return to the hospital ten days later for repeat scans and confirmation. Beyond an apology, I was sent home with little support or guidance. Just three days later, I suffered multiple haemorrhages and required emergency surgery.

During this incredibly difficult time, Tommy’s helped me to understand what had happened and provided the compassion, information, and support that I had been unable to access through the hospital.

My hope is that women’s concerns — and both their physical and mental wellbeing — are taken seriously, with appropriate care and support offered before pregnancy and at every stage afterwards. No woman should have to wait until a third loss before receiving the help, investigations, and care she deserves.
