Story
Last August, we lost our beloved Mel to ovarian cancer. She was a devoted wife, an incredible mum to Lily and George, and a deeply loved sister and friend. Her strength, warmth, and gratitude stayed with her right to the very end, and she continues to inspire all of us every day.
This July, two of Mel’s close school friends, Lou and Gemma — who have lovingly organised this challenge — will be leading us as we climb Mount Fuji in her memory. Joining them are her husband Mark, her beautiful children Lily and George and her sister Lot, coming together to honour Mel’s life, remember her courage, and keep her spirit close as we take on something truly meaningful together.
Mel had a wonderful eye for photography and captured so many special moments for all of us. As we take on this climb, we hope to capture a few moments of our own that would make her proud and do her justice.
Every penny donated will go to Hospice at Home, a charity that made an immeasurable difference during Mel’s final days. Thanks to their care and support, Mel was able to spend her last moments where she most wanted to be — at home, surrounded by the people she loved most. Their compassion gave not only Mel comfort and dignity, but also gave all of us precious time and peace we will always be grateful for.
Every donation will help Hospice at Home continue to provide this vital care to other families going through the most difficult times of their lives.
Thank you so much for your support — it truly means the world to us and helps keep Mel’s memory alive in a way that makes a difference.
