Raising money for ESOL Scotland

Glasgow Kiltwalk 2024 · 28 April 2024 ·

Our ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes support integration, employability and personal development. We welcome refugees & adults from migrant communities, supporting around 500 learners. We train around 60 dedicated volunteers who help us run community classes.

Story

Glasgow ESOL Forum is excited to be participating in the Glasgow Kiltwalk 2024, a walk event that will take place on Sunday 28th April, 2024. We are rallying our staff, volunteers, learners, friends, and family to join us in this incredible endeavor. Our goal is to raise funds to support our community English classes, which are a lifeline for refugees seeking to improve their language skills and gain confidence in their new lives in Scotland.

Before I learn English, I cry every day but now I feel confident. I can speak English

English classes play a vital role in helping refugees settle into their new communities. They provide the necessary tools for communication and integration, enabling individuals to connect with others and navigate daily life with ease. By supporting our cause, you are directly contributing to the empowerment of refugees and helping them build a brighter future.

We have an amazing team of Kiltwalkers who will be taking on different distances: the Mighty Stride covering 22 miles, the Big Stroll spanning 14 miles, and the Wee Wander at a scenic 5km. As we embark on this challenging journey through blisters and breathtaking landscapes towards Loch Lomond, we are filled with gratitude for your generous donations.

To make your contribution even more impactful, Kiltwalk will top up your donation by 25%! This means that every pound you donate will go even further in supporting our cause. Your support truly makes a difference.

Donating is simple and secure through JustGiving. Rest assured that your details are safe - JustGiving will never sell them or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, your money will be sent directly to Glasgow ESOL Forum, making it the most efficient way to contribute.

Join us in making a positive impact on the lives of refugees by supporting our fundraising efforts for Glasgow ESOL Forum's community English classes. Together, we can create opportunities for growth and empowerment.
