Raising money for Maggie's Centres and Brain Tumour Research

Story

Following the devastating diagnosis of an aggressive brain tumour, friends and family of Glenn Pearce are hoping to raise money for 2 amazing charities; Brain Tumour Research and Maggies. Maggies supports individuals and their families following a cancer diagnosis. Additionally, Brain Tumour Research funds research into cures for brain tumours - the biggest cancer killer of under 40s.

Glenn, a 52 year old father of 3 wonderful children, is a pillar of the local community. He has an infectious personality and zest for for life and healthy living and is much loved and respected by all those who have had the privilege to know him. Sadly, following a brief period of vague symptoms in early 2025, Glenn was unexpectedly diagnosed with a large aggressive Glioblastoma. Although he has braved 3 brain operations and radiotherapy the tumour is incurable.

In keeping with Glenn’s love of walking and the outdoors, we are looking for sponsorship in our mission to walk the Edinburgh 7 hills; a walk of approximately 18miles to include the 7 hills that punctuate the city. We would be extremely grateful for your donations to support these amazing charities. Please follow the link on this page. Every little helps.
