Story

Three of us. One very long walk. 100km. 😅

In June 2026, the three of us are doing something slightly mad. On 13 June 2026, we’re taking on the Cotswold Way Ultra Challenge and walking 100km across the Cotswolds continuously, over two days, with very little sleep and a lot of snacks.

To put that into perspective… it’s more than two marathons back-to-back, or roughly the distance from Gloucester to Bristol city centre. And this definitely isn’t a gentle countryside wander. The route sticks to the Cotswold Way, which means hills (so many hills), uneven trails, countryside paths, and hours on our feet through the day, into the night, and beyond. It’s going to test our legs, our mindset, and probably our sense of humour too.

There are three of us doing this together. Two of us work at Gloucestershire Hospitals: one as a Registered Nurse and educator, one as a mental health nurse and the third is a Baker, who owns The Village Cakery (so at least we’ll be well fuelled 🧁). We’re all very different people, but we share the same slightly questionable tendency to say YES to big challenges when something really matters. 🙌

Fitness hasn’t always come easily to any of us, and none of us would ever pretend this is going to be “easy”. Training for this will be about proving to ourselves that we can do hard things, even when they feel out of reach. If this helps even one person think “maybe I could do that too”, then that’s a win.

Thank you so much for supporting me and this challenge. It honestly means more than you know 💙
