Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving Team page.
We (Sophie, Emma, and Charlie) are taking on the Arctic Challenge—a thrilling wilderness endurance event happening on 20th January 2026.
This adventure will push us to our limits with dog sledding, hiking, ice fishing, orienteering, and woodland fire lighting—all in the icy wilds of the Arctic, where it’s pitch dark most of the time.
We’re doing this to raise £6,000 for the National Literacy Trust, a charity working to break the cycle of poverty and low literacy across the UK. Every child deserves the chance to succeed, and literacy is the key that unlocks opportunity.
We’d be incredibly grateful for your support—whether it’s a donation, a share, or cheering us on from afar. If you’re a UK taxpayer, don’t forget to tick the Gift Aid box to make your donation go even further. Every contribution brings us closer to our goal and helps change lives.
All funds raised will go directly to the National Literacy Trust to support children in the UK’s most disadvantaged communities. The stats are sobering:
❗Children from the poorest backgrounds start school 19 months behind their peers
❗They’re 5x more likely to fall short of expected English standards at age 11
❗4x more likely to be unemployed by age 34
❗3x more likely to experience mental health challenges as adults
