Story
I have been fortunate enough to gain a ballot place in the London Marathon 2024. As there are a few charities close to my heart, I couldn't decide on just one, I have decided to run for 3 charities and raise as much money as possible for each. I would really like to keep the donations as even as possible.
The first charity I have chosen is REACH, this charity is local to me - REACH are currently in the process of building a new outdoor learning centre and sensory garden. REACH provide high quality assessment and rehabilitation programmes, using trained horses, to give a treatment strategy for adults and children suffering with physical, mental, social and/or learning disabilities. REACH use their clinically led approach and specialist centre to offer a unique combination of Physiotherapy, Hippotherapy, Equine Assisted Learning and Pat Therapy (animal petting).
The second charity I have chosen is Bart's Hospital - they hold a very special place in my heart for all the love and care they gave to my Grandad over the years and especially during his last few days with us. They are an incredible hospital and their Cardiology Department deserves a lot of credit.
Finally, I have also chosen to raise money for the charity that we support at work, which is Bede House - For over 80 years, Bede has worked to help Southwark people thrive. Bede House Bede House is a local Southwark charity, who offer a wide range of support to their local community. Since 1938, they have been working to unlock new possibilities for young and old to live fuller lives. Their services are delivered through four programmes addressing specific needs: Learning difficulties, Youth, Community and ending domestic abuse. Donations for this charity will be via the Amber River Foundation. The Amber River Foundation is a restricted fund under the auspices of Prism the Gift Fund, UK Charity No 1099682.
